I hate to say it because the answer is more time... Preparation. Taking 5 minutes the day or weekend before will allow you to come home from work or long day of planned activities and prepare a quick meal. I seasoned and marinated some salmon steaks the day before and then broiled them for 15 minutes and served them on a bed of quick cooking angel hair pasta. I had dinner fully prepared and tabled within 30 minutes of coming home. Boneless and skinless meats cook quicker and allow for a delicious and rich quick meal if you season them the day before. If you don't have a skill for seasoning with fresh herbs and spices, try pre-made marinades they are very delicious and the family will appreciate a home cooked meal no matter how quick it is!
